Police & Fire – Environmental Remediation

Police & Fire and Rubin Environmental/Demolition work started on November 30th and demolition of the decommissioned Police & Fire gun range started the week of December 7th with dig and haul operations to follow. This environmental remediation is taking place in what will be the South section of the future bypass channel. It’s estimated that there will be roughly 430 truckloads of contaminated soil hauled off from the site. This work must be completed prior to the City of Fort Worth relocating a major sanitary sewer line, making way for construction of this section of the channel. This project is expected to be completed in March 2021 and TCEQ’s final certificate of completion is expected in spring 2022.
